Scholarship by ALTA-VISTA

Alta-Vista has decided to award a fully paid program to study first level of Spanish to three SLC graduating students from three different schools every year starting this year, 2012.

The intent behind the scholarship is to familiarize and expose young brains with the world’s second most spoken language and introduce them the vibrant Spanish culture. Education system in Nepal is still very traditional and school’s curriculum barely fits any foreign language. It is also believed that adolescents can be better learners than the adults as they are relatively more capable of acquiring native accent and are less hesitant to use the language.

We are inviting the schools to nominate three candidates for the scholarship program. Nomination should be received by 2nd April each year.

Details and nomination procedures are as follows:

1.   The scholarship is based on merit, without regard to financial need. Therefore, Schools are encouraged to nominate the students with evidence who are exceptionally well in extracurricular activities, academics, and possess good communication skills.

 2.   We are inviting three times more nominations than the scholarships available in order to award it to the best deserving candidate, therefore we encourage to nominate three students from each school. Only one student will be awarded with the scholarship from each school.

 3. Each awarded student will receive a full paid course worth NPR 5000 and study materials worth NPR 1000.

 4.   Prospective candidate should be an SLC student graduating in that same year.

 5.   Emails to the awardees and their respective schools will be sent by 10th April.

6.    Classes will commence from first week of May.
